It’s summertime in Oasis!

It’s hard to remember what summer feels like when you’re stuck in an especially elongated winter frame of mind. You’re sick of the sight of your winter coat, you judge time by how often Corrie comes on TV and your google homepage automatically clicks into pages of teasing tour operators.

But believe it or not, somewhere out there, in the not-as-far-away-as-you-think future, is the summer. It’s the light at the end of a stormy, cold and let’s just say it; miserable tunnel.

But just for a quick minute recently, high-street hero Oasis lived up to its name and gave us all hope as it previewed it’s Spring/Summer 14 collections at its head office at Stephen’s Green.

There were clashing prints, ice-cream coloured sorbet tones, aviary prints and pretty florals, as well as the odd denim dog. Cute, I know.

Having been a former employee at the store, I’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for the brand. Its signature styles, classic structure dresses and feminine prints are a bit of a home comfort but you can count on a few surprises being thrown in the mix too.

Keep an eye out for a gallery of my favourite of the SS14 picks from the collection…

If you’ve been following me on Twitter, or any other Irish beauty blogger for that matter, you may have noticed a few raves about a certain US beauty brand that has landed on our shores. Until now, Wet n Wild has been a brand we only managed to pick up on our infrequent trips Stateside but we’re no longer missing out, as the popular bargain beauty range has arrived and is now available in Dunnes Stores across the country.

While I’m sure some of you will have picked up a few of the brand’s products on your travels, I’m new to the brand and am feeling slightly excited about the whole thing. I’ve been hearing great things from my fellow bloggers (the longlasting lippy being a must buy apparently) and best of all, its products are really affordable.

Ranging from €1.99 (for single eyeshadow colours and lipliner pencils) to €4.99 (cream foundation) and €6.49 (for the Colour Icon eyeshadow collection), the products won’t break the bank – all the more reason to take them for a test run.

The brand launched at a special event in House Dublin on Leeson Street recently and I was lucky enough to pop along to see what it was all about. While the launch party was a happy mixture of cake pops, cupcakes and lots of cosmetics, it wasn’t too difficult to win the make-up posse over! But best of all, it was a chance to see (and try) all the products and I can safely say that its price point isn’t the only attractive selling point.

There were Wet n Wild make-up artists on hand at the launch to help you try and test the newest products to the range!

The Wet n Wild product range includes everything from mascaras, liquid liners and eyeshadow palettes to foundation, illuminating powder and nail colours. All between €1.99 and €6.49! There’s no excuse not to try it now!

I tried one of the MegaLast lip colours (€2.99) and was delighted to see its staying power was still going strong when I arrived home that evening. Other products I picked up at the launch included a Wild Shine nail colour base coat (€1.99), Coverall cream foundation (€4.99), a cream eyeshadow pencil and the Ultimate Brow Kit – product reviews coming very soon!

Wet n Wild have been around for 30 years and will be available in Dunnes Stores, selected Penneys and other retailers nationwide.
